Last year we roasted coffee from the community of Katana in Eastern DR Congo. Today the ongoing brutal conflict raging in the region has displaced this very community right during their coffee harvest season. They had to flee leaving behind their farms, their homes, and any means of survival. Entire families now face hunger and economic ruin. But there is hope. The leadership of RAEK coffee cooperative is organising an aid campaign to support those affected the most by the displacement. And we want to do what we can to show our support.
With just a few animals, we can help them rebuild. By providing guinea pigs and chickens, we can offer 100 war-affected families both immediate nutrition and a quick source of income.
Each family will receive an emergency starter kit of: 5 guinea pigs, 3 chickens, 2 kg of starter feed.
It may seem small—but for them, it’s the difference between despair and dignity.
